Benglesbullets Point Detonating Projectile

$9.00

SKU: BB40PPD001 Category:

This is a 3d printed point detonating round that features a bore riding safety. This round is compatible with 40mm m212 style cases but it has a flat bottom making it incompatible with the bb40sv001 (side venting case). The standard bb4038 case is recommended or a standard nylon case with the same blank as a “chalk” round. When the round is fired the safety pin will exit the projectile which frees the firing pin to set off a 209 primer upon impact. The 209 primer is not included but all other hardware is. The 209 primer can ignite a payload in the nose cone of this round. Smoke mix or chalk is the recommended payload for this projectile. This projectile threads apart into three separate sections. The middle or primer housing and pusher section could be re-used if recovered in good condition as well as the firing pin, firing pin spring and primer retaining washer.

Included:

  • Safety pin
  • Safety pin spring
  • Primer retaining washer
  • Brass firing pin
  • Firing pin keeper spring
  • Projectile Nose Cone
  • Projectile Primer Housing
  • Projectile Pusher

To assemble the round, first insert the firing pin into the pusher. It should fit freely and slide inside the bore with no resistance. You can now install the safety pin spring followed with the safety pin into the side of the pusher. The firing pin should now be locked into position. You must hold the safety pin in place until you insert it into a case which will secure it. Next, set aside the pusher and install a 209 primer into the middle section of the projectile. Place the washer over the primer and then install the firing pin keeper spring over top of the firing pin in the pusher and thread the two sections together. Fill the nose cone with chalk or smoke mix (you will likely need to add quick match or some igniter required by your smoke mix) and thread the nose cone on. This assembly should resist initiation in the case of the round being dropped but extreme care must be taken. Premature primer initiation is possible when using this round.
